Lucignano

Lucignano represents a remarkably conserved medieval walled hill-top village, elliptical in shape. It is strategically located between Siena and Arezzo.

Florence (about 50 min. driving):

Florence lies on the Arno River, the city is considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and was long ruled by the Medici family.

Siena (about 25 min. driving):

Siena, like other Tuscan hill towns, was first settled in the time of the Etruscans. July 2 and August 16 are the dates when the "Palio" is held. The Palio is a traditional horse race which is run around the Piazza del Campo each year.

Cortona (about 25 min. driving):

It is one of the twelve cities of the Etruscan League. Located at the altitude of 600 metres, it has magnificent panoramas to every point of the compass.The town was the set of the film "Life is beautiful" by Roberto Benigni and becoming increasingly popular in the recent years thanks to the book "Under the Tuscan Sun" by Frances Mayes.

San Gimignano is a pretty mediaeval walled city , famous for its beautiful towers. It's called the "tuscan manhattan".

Montepulciano (about 25 min. driving):

Montepulciano, a town and commune in the province of Siena in southern Tuscany, is a medieval and renaissance hill town of exceptional beauty. Montepulciano is a major producer of food and drink. Wine connoisseurs consider its Vino Nobile among Italy's best.

Montalcino & Val d'Orcia (about 35 min. driving):

Montalcino is a hilltown famous for its Brunello di Montalcino wine. The town is located to the west of Pienza, close to the Crete Senesi in Valdorcia.
